Englishhhh

Well, this is the last blog. About how much English I have learned in University, I would say that it wasn't a lot because this class, English IV, was the first and the last that I had in University. But, it helped me to remember some things that I had forgotten like writting or talking in English. For example, writting blogs I think that was a good implement to help me to remember how to write sentences, remember words and remember the tenses that we have to use when we write in English. Also, I think that talk in English in classes was good because before this class I hadn't spoken in English since I left school. I think that I have a lot of things to improve in my English, and I think that I will have to do a course in English some months because my goal is to talk fluently as I were a native person hahaha. Besides, I think that if what I'm planning to do in 2020 works, I will go away from here and there I could improve my English Today, I just talk in English with m...

Changes to my study program

Currently, I'm finishing 2nd year of a major in Public Management in Universidad de Chile. When I decided to study in Universidad de Chile, I thought I would study in a big building, with a beautiful yard and a big library. Well, the University has it, but not for our major. Our library is too little for the number of students that we are, our building it's okay now but next year more people will study in our building. About the yard, it's too little, there is like one three and 4 meters of grass, it's so depressing :( I think that is too soon for me, for doing some review of the contents of the study program. But I think that I can criticize some teachers that we have and the workload that we have. About the teachers, the are some of them that are not interested in that the students learn, others make annoying and out of place comments about their students, others are the combination of both. About the workload, I'm of the idea that in the University, we should...

Sports

Finally a topic in which I'm an expert! hahaha naaaa. Well, I practice sports since I was little, I remember that I was one of the best of my class in sports activities. In 5th grade, I started to play volleyball, at first it was just for fun but then I started to go to competitions representing my school, my town and my region. When I started to play representing my region, I started to travel to Concepcion 3 times per week to train with team Bio-Bio. Playing with the team Bio-Bio was an honour, represent my region and give everyting on the field just for my region is an experience that I will never forget. Now, I'm a "chunchita", I play volleyball representing Universidad de Chile. I love playing and training in the University, the sports centre Juan Gomez Millas, place in which we train,  it's amazing! It is new an so modern, there are a lot of athletes of a high level training in there, there is a kind of sports community. Being student and a volleyball p...

4 opinions

What is your opinion about tattoos? I think that everybody can do wherever they want with their bodies, if they want to make a tattoo in their bodies is their decision. Some people make tattoos about some death familiar or pet, names of someone they love, representative phrases or symbols, or some draw just because they want that draw in their bodies. I think that is stupid to criticize something that is a personal decision that has not consequences in other people. What is your opinion about child labor? Until now, the best times of my life has been when I was a child. I was playing all day with my friends and with my parents afternoon. It's hard to think that there are kids that hasn't time to play because they have to work. I think that all the people in the world should have a good childhood because that stage it's determinant of what kind of people they are going to become. What is your opinion about recycling? I think that is an habit that people must adopt bec...

My future Job

Well, it's easy to say in which sector I would like to work because I'm studying Public Management, so I going to work in the public sector. The difficult think to say is specifically  in which area of the public sector I would like to work in. I think that I would get bored easy staying all day in an office, I really love the work outdoor but for what I'm studying, there are 99% of possibilities that I ended working in an offic, but I'm of the idea that every place could be a nice place to work if there are nice people. If I'm going to work in an office, I really would like to have visits outdoor, principally in the area in which I'll be working. For example, if I'm working in CONADI, I would like to visit Región de La Araucanía for to see with my own eyes where and how the public policies its been implementing. About the salary... I have never be worry about the money that I will earn, if I can eat and sleep under a roof is enought for me. If I want to...

Postgraduate course?

Imagen
I would like to make my postgraduate studies in another country because I think that it would be a different experience in which I would learn in a different way than we learn here and also I will meet a lot of people, a different culture, and different way how other governments solve their public problems. I don´t know in which area I would like to focus for to take a postgrade but I think that public policies, decentralization, public management or statistics would be an option. Being more specific, I like the topics about children, poverty, inequality, enviroment and education, but the topic that I really love is about native people, because is a problem which no one has been able to solve in a good way and I want to help to solve the problem with all that I have, so I think that is important to learn about how other countries have solve the multicultural problems inside their countries, for example, Australia. I haven't research about postgraduate programs or the universiti...

Why this career?

When I was coursing last year of school, I didn't know what I wanted to study but I just had the idea that I wanted to study something in which I could bring help to the people.  When I took PSU I still didn't knowing what I wanted to study so I expected get the score for to discard options. When I receive my scores, I couldn't eliminated any option because I got a great score, so I talked to my parents for what to do and they told me to choose a career that I tought it could be fine for me and I put on the system for first option "sociology in Universidad de Chile". Four hours before the postulation's system closed, I changed my first option for Public Management. It was an impulsive act but it was the best decision of my life. Why I changed my postulation? Because I was boring, reading posts in Facebook and I saw a publication that said "What do you want to study and where?" and there were a lot of comments that said "Public Management in ...
